摘要:The crashworthiness and survivability of aircraft totally depends on the dynamic behavior of aircraft structures. This type of study first began with DYCAST (Dynamic Crash Analysis of Structures)Program at NASA Langley Research Center in Virginia, USA. The basic test consists of thevertical drop of a section of a section of passenger aircraft and then determines theassociated damage.

In this talk, we give a systematized approach to the computer modeling of the vertical drop test by building a model with passenger dummies, seats, floor, stations, stringers, struts, fuselage skin, and seatbelts. We perform the drop test by first validating computer solutions, and the let the fuselage section hit the ground with pitch, roll, and on uneven grounds. We also consider when
thefuselage consists of two sections.

Our computer modeling will improve the designs of the safety of future airliners, save testing cost, and help develop other aviation products.

Taiwan.

He has research interests in many areas of applied and computational mathematics: control theory for partial differential equations (PDEs), boundary element methods and numerical solutions of PDEs,engineering mechanics, chaoticdynamics, quantum computation, chemical physics and quantum mechanics. Hehas written over one hundred and fifty papers, seven advanced texts/monographs,and co-edited four books. He is an Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, and the Editor-in-Chief of the Elsevier/Academic Press’ Mathematics in Science and Engineering Book Series. He has served asthe Editor-in-Chief of the Chapman & Hall/CRC Press Applied Mathematics and Nonlinear Science Series (2002-2011), and as Associate Editor for several othereditorial boards, including the SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, the International Journal on Quantum Information, Physica Scripta, and the Electronic Journal of Differential Equations. He is also a co-holder of a U.S. Patent on certain quantum circuit design for quantum computing. He has membershipsin the American Mathematical Society (AMS) and the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM). His newest book, “Proper Orthogonal Decomposition Method for Partial Differential Equations”, 261 pages, coauthored withProf. Zhendong Luo,was published by Elsevier/Academic Press in 2018. Heis presently preparing a new book on computational modeling and methods for airplane crashes.

The article on the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 published as the cover story in the April 2015 issue of the Notices of The American Mathematical Society(AMS) with G. Chen as the lead author is named by the AMS as one in TopMath Stories in the Media - 2015; see
