报告题目: Recent advances in superconvergence analysis of high-order edge elements with applications to Maxwell's equations

Abstract: Since early 1970s, the superconvergence study of finite element methods has been a very active research topic due to its applications in leading to more efficient numerical methods for solving various differential equations.  Many excellent superconvergence results have been obtained for elliptic equations, parabolic equations and linear hyperbolic equations.

For Maxwell's equations, the first superconvergence result was derived in 1994. Since then, some results have been obtained. But there are many unsolved problems. In this talk, I'll present our recent breakthrough result obtained for both the second and third order edge elements. Theoretical analysis and numerical results will be presented. I will conclude the talk with some open issues.

 

报告人简介:李继春,博士毕业于美国佛罗里达州大学,现为美国内华达拉斯维加斯大学教授、应用数学与统计中心主任,2009年获得美国内华达州拉斯维加斯大学最高科研奖;巴里克学者奖。2011年获得理学院杰出研究员奖。主要研究方向为有限元方法、无网格方法、图像处理、反问题等,在SIAM Journal on Numerical AnalysisSIAM J SCI COMPUTSIAM Journal on Applied MathematicsMathematics of ComputationNumerisch Mathematik等国际权威期刊上发表超过100篇学术论文,出版4本学术专著,主持(含完成)美国国家自然科学基金在内的各类项目20余项;20多次在国际会议让作邀请报告或特邀报告,包括大会报告。李继春教授同时担任3个国际SCI期刊编委(其中一个为联合主编)。
